Fundraising
Penistone & District Riding Club enjoys raising money for charity; if you have any suggestions for which charities PDRC should fund raise for, please let us know!
So far in 2019 we have raised £990 for a new charity called ‘Aalish’s ride the theme dream’. On Sunday 10th June 2018 Aalish lost her battle with Neuroblastoma, childhood cancer, she was 8 years old. In memory of Aalish her family have started a charity to raise money to help other families of children with neuroblastoma. The Charity will work alongside hospitals to send families on an all expenses paid day out to a theme park of their choice in the UK letting them spend much needed quality time.
In 2017 we raised a fantastic amount of money for the Wilberyy the Wonder pony charity, set up in memory of Hannah Francis. We achieved this due to the exceptional efforts of our chair-person Joanne Weatherall.
In 2014 £400 was raised for Yorkshire Air Ambulance, £115 for the Mare & Foal Sanctuary, and £80 for the Graham Fulford Charitable Trust.
2013 was another great year with £2000 going to Leukaemia Research, £480 to Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, and £100 to Barnsley Hospice.
In 2012 £2000 was given to Sheffield Children’s Hospital, and £160 to the Air Ambulance.
In 2011 £1500 was raised for Help for Heroes, £213 for Mark Davis Injured Jockey’s Fund, and £81 to the Air Ambulance.
